UMS a World Rally Championship Team
UMS has been building cars and competing in the World Rally Championship since 1994. In that time the UMS group has entered over 40 events including WRC Rallys of New Zealand, Australia, China, Finland, Acropolis, RAC, Portugal and Spain. In this time the Team has only failed to finish 3 events due to car mechanical failure.
A UMS Group N Subaru Impreza WRX is built to win. Developments in the new STi Version V and IV Impreza have closed the gap to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. VI.
The Impreza's superior chassis and traction specially help in the slippery and narrow roads in New Zealand, China and Australia.
During the past 10 years European based teams have only won Group N on 4 occasions in New Zealand, Australia, China or Indonesia. Australian and Japanese Teams using the Subaru Impreza have dominated these events in 1998 and 1999 and have won Group N in 4 of the last 5 of these WRC rallies.
